About the Class
Course Hours
Class Requirements
30 hours of required classroom time
12 hours of required driving and observation behind-the-wheel instruction (3 days x 4 hours)
Terms of the Course
Harrisburg students will be given priority for the course.
Class enrollment is limited – first come, first served.
Register early.
All logistics above are subject to change depending on students, weather conditions, etc.
The student must be age 14 by the start date of the class.
An instruction permit is not required to take the course.
Students will receive .25 high school credit for passing the course.
The course will be graded pass/fail.
This does not factor into student GPA.
Students passing the course will receive a certificate indicating their completion of the program.
Students must attend all sessions.
If there is illness or other extenuating circumstances, a student may miss up to ONE day of the regular classroom but must attend a makeup class at the end of regular classes.
Behind-the-Wheel BTW Instruction
The instructor will inform you of driving dates and times.
The instructor will inform you of the driving start/end location.
A driving group consists of two students.
Cost
The fee is nonrefundable ($325 Harrisburg Student)
This includes if a student dismissed from the program for absences, poor behavior or misconduct.
This fee may be rolled over into the next class should the student wish to attempt the course.
No application will be accepted without fee.

Out-of-District Registrations
At this time, we do not allow out-of-district registrations due to the popularity of the class within the District.
In the event Out-of-District Student spots open, the fee is $425.

SUMMER 2025
8th - 12th Grade parents will receive an email from Principal Rollinger at the end of April with a link to register for Drivers Education.
REGISTRATION : Check your calendar for conflicts prior to registering for session.
Eligible Students:
Student must be a currently enrolled HHS students (8th - 12th Grade).
Student must be 14 years old on or before first day of driving (July 1).
